What to see in the village
Give Santichon a relaxed half day: wander the clay-walled houses, walk through the Chinese gateway, and sit down for Yunnan tea. The hilltop viewpoint above the village looks out over the whole Pai valley — worth the climb, and one of the few attractions here that may charge a small fee.
Most visitors pair the village with the memorial bridge nearby, which makes an easy, unhurried west-side outing before heading back to town for the evening market.
