Why stay near Pai Canyon
Pai Canyon (Kong Lan) is the sunset everyone comes for, about 8 km south of town on Route 1095. Stay on that same southern road and you skip the evening traffic out of town — you can roll down to the ridges, watch the light fade, and be back for dinner.
The south side is also where Pai opens up into rice fields and mountains, so the trade-off is a quieter, greener base with a short ride into town, rather than a central room with the night market on your doorstep.
